James 5:17-18

Elijah was faced in his day by all kinds of wickedness, adultery, murder and the whole nation given to idolatry. As a true worshiper of the living God he felt isolated and even believed he was the only one left in Isreal that was not worshiping Baal which had replaced the living God as god of the nation of Isreal. 1Kings 19:10.

But God was quick to correct Elijah that He actually have 7000 reserved for him that have not bowed to Baal.

Elijah was not deterred by the ungodliness in the nation or driven to fear and discouragement of the 7000 who simply went under cover to worship the true God, instead Elijah decided to challenge the situation by releasing a curse upon the nation 1Kings 17:1 hoping to throw the nation into drought and famine and by so doing,  draw the attention of the nation to recognise their sin and bring forth repentance.

Interestingly God agreed with Elijah and honored the word of Elijah, there was no rain or dew in Isreal for the space of three and a half years according the word of Elijah.

The action of Elijah re awakened the nation, the Baal prophets were judged and the nation returned to the living God. It also proved that there is only one living God and the rest were dead gods the figment of men's imagination, worshiping the creature instead of the creator who is blessed forever.

We are faced today by the same type of unbelief and wickedness that Elijah saw in his days, if there are believers grieved by what they see, they are not publicly taking their stand just like the days of Elijah, some fear isolation if they publicly condemn it others are simply busy trying to make the best of the situation.

God is looking for Elijahs in our day who will pray to draw the nation out of idolatry  return revival to the nation to worship once again the true God. Revival is long overdue in the nations, wherever you are there is the cry for revival and it's time to cry out for a divine intervention.

God is waiting for the new Elijahs to decree what will come to pass in the nations, are you going to answer this call?.
